Established in 2006, Baarmutha Wines is located 450 m above sea level on the north face of the Murmungee escarpment. Just 6.5 km from the Beechworth Post Office, and 500 metres from historic Baarmutha Station, the winery is central to one of Australia’s most exciting wine regions.

Winemaker Vin Webb manages the small, family owned operation, with plenty of help from his wife Sharon and their three young sons.

A graduate of Oenology and Viticultural Studies at CSU, Vin uses organic principles and biodynamic farming methods. The vines are lovingly tended by hand, with no chemical intervention except Bordeaux Mix in recommended applications to alleviate disease pressure.

Family and friends hand select the fruit at harvest. Using a combination of basket-pressed processes, open-vat ferments and minimal intervention, the wild-yeasted fruit is then left to mature for two years in old and new French oak.

Baarmutha Wines believes in handcrafted attention to detail, from harvest to bottle. The winery continues to enhance Beechworth’s reputation for regional individualism and quality in every vintage.
